Homeopathy is one of the most popular forms of natural medicine and is now being used by over 30 million people in Europe. It works by assisting the body’s own natural, self-healing power using minute doses of medicines which, in larger doses, actually produce the symptoms that are being treated. The word 'homeopathy' actually means to treat 'like with like'.

Take, for example, a person suffering from insomnia. The conventional approach is to use large doses of sedatives to induce artificial sleep which may work well but can produce unwanted side effects and may be harmful over the long-term.

In contrast, a typical homeopathic remedy for insomnia would be a stimulant (such as coffee or quinine) but used in minute doses. This works very effectively when its known medicinal effects are closely tailored to match the patient's symptoms.

The advantage of a homeopathy is that treatment is gentle, safe and free from side effects making it particularly suitable for babies, children, pregnant women and elderly patients, although I treat all ages in my private practice.

Homeopathic medicines are specially prepared at approved pharmacies using plant, mineral, metal and animal sources. Many of these have been tried and tested for over 200 years and shown to be effective in modern clinical trials.
